The week long jallikattu protests in Tamil Nadu ended in violence earlier this week. After almost seven days of an unprecedented gathering of students and young IT professionals, the clamour for lifting the ban on jallikattu and amendment of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Acts grew louder and gained momentum. Tamil Nadu government was finally forced to enact a bill to that effect.
