A student from Arunachal Pradesh was allegedly beaten and forced to lick his house owner’s shoes in Bengaluru for using excessive water.
“A student from Arunachal Pradesh Higio Guntey was beaten. However, the police are investigating into the student’s claim that he was forced to lick his house owner’s shoes for using excessive water,” said DCP (South East) Dr M B Boralingaiagh.
DCP (southeast) further added that the house owner has been identified as Hemanth Kumar. “Besides, a case has been registered following a complaint from Higio Guntey, a fourth-semester student of Christ University.” Higio Guntey who is the son of Higio Yame,Executive Assistant Commissioner of Arunachal Pradesh. “Kumar has surrendered and the police are investigating the case,” the DCP stated.
Meanwhile speaking to media, Guntey said, “After beating me black and blue, the house owner still was not satisfied. He beat me again and forced me to put on his shoes and made me lick and kiss them. I had to oblige because I was bruised and was not in a position to take any more beatings. As if this was not enough, he kicked me out of the house. He even threw my trolley from the third floor. This is very humiliating.”
Guntey also shared that post incident he has left the house, and is living with friends in a different locality. “I would have lodged a complaint on the same day, but I was injured. Besides, three Arunachal girl students are also staying the building. I fear their safety too.”
